China's Oroqen: From Nomads to Villages

Did you know that some of China’s 50+ ethnic minorities were nomadic hunter-gatherers all the way up until the mid-1900s? 🦌 Some of the older generation of Oroqens in Heilongijang and Inner Mongolia experienced the transition from a roaming life in the forest to a settled life in villages, and we met a few of them deep in the mountain villages near the Russian border 🌲 We learned not only about their traditional culture and ways of life, but also about the lives of the Oroqen people today.
