Deep in the heart of Beijing, hidden within Fusuijing Hutong near the White Pagoda Temple, stands a place locals fear to even mention — Ghost Building 8. Some call it the “Abandoned 3 Body Problem Building,” because of its eerie resemblance to the mysterious structures from the series. But this one… is very real.
Built in 1958, this eight-story building was once a proud residential complex. During the Cultural Revolution, however, it became something far darker — a secret detention site where hundreds of people were imprisoned, tortured, and silenced forever.
Tonight, I explore what many call the most haunted place in China, alongside my friend Dragon. From flickering lights and unexplainable whispers to the heavy silence of history itself — we uncover what still lingers on the 8th floor, where so many lives were lost.
