The journey begins at a train station with massage chairs, highlighting the modern conveniences alongside ancient charm. The train ride to Furong is short and inexpensive, setting a budget-friendly tone for the adventure.

Upon arrival, Kieran is immediately struck by the stylish train station and the beautiful mountain views. He secures a taxi to his hotel, which boasts modern amenities and a generous host who provides complimentary fruit. The hotel's location offers a glimpse of the river and surrounding mountains, promising scenic beauty.

Exploring the town, Kieran discovers charming streets lined with lanterns, a delightful blend of modern and traditional architecture. The sounds of a nearby waterfall draw him in, revealing a stunning bridge and picturesque buildings. He notes the unique architectural style of the town, characteristic of its ancient heritage.

As evening approaches, the town's lights begin to illuminate, creating a magical atmosphere. Kieran visits a familiar tea shop, a recurring sight in his China travels, and observes the bustling activity near an archway, possibly an entrance to the main part of the town. He purchases tickets to enter a tourist area, which includes a performance.

Before entering the main tourist area, Kieran explores the surrounding streets, discovering a variety of food stalls offering an array of meats, seafood, and vegetables on skewers. He eventually finds a restaurant within the park-like tourist area, noting the friendly staff. The park's beauty is highlighted, with a mention of wishing he had a drone to capture its grandeur. He also points out the stage where a performance is scheduled.
