Day 3 Biking 1000km around Taiwan and today we're taking a break from the bikes to explore Taichung City. Nick-named the middle city, Taichung sits halfway between Taipei and Tainan is the perfect city to stop for one day if you're short on time.

We loved exploring the interesting streets of Taichung like Animation Alley and especially visiting the bustling Fenchia night market. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Rainbow City but highly recommend you check it out on your day trip.

If you didn't know, Taiwan actually has a dedicated cycling route that circumferences the entire island, it's called Cycling Route 1, and this is what we will be following (with a couple of detours) over the next three weeks.

Cycling Route 1 can be done in just 9 days for those who are really looking for a challenge, but we want to explore all the stops along the way so we're adding extra days to ensure we not only get challenged but we also get to travel Taiwan in the most unique way possible!
