Is this the most beautiful city in the world? 4 days in Guilin, Yangshuo

This travel vlog takes viewers on an immersive journey to Guilin and Yangshuo, a region renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty. The traveler, Heideexyz, embarks on this adventure by first experiencing the luxury of business class on the high-speed rail from Hong Kong, a journey that offers a stark contrast to the bustling city they leave behind. The video highlights the efficiency and comfort of this travel method, including access to a business lounge and onboard amenities.

Upon arrival, the focus shifts to the stunning karst mountain landscapes that define Guilin. The accommodation chosen is a unique hotel that offers unparalleled views of these iconic formations. The room itself is described as a highlight, featuring a 360-degree spinning bed, a bathtub with a view, an infinity pool, and various quirky photo opportunities like "hobbit houses" and "swings." The hotel even includes a complimentary photoshoot, adding to the unique experience.

The itinerary then dives into the natural wonders of Yangshuo. A significant portion of the video is dedicated to the Ten Mile Gallery, experienced through a bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River. This serene journey through a landscape often compared to a traditional Chinese painting is described as meditative, despite the potential for long queues. The traditional bamboo rafts are noted for their stability, offering a unique way to navigate the picturesque river.

Another key highlight is the search for the iconic scenery depicted on the 20 RMB banknote. The video showcases the real-life location, allowing viewers to compare it with the famous image. This quest leads to an ancient town called Xingping, though the traveler notes that the Ten Mile Gallery area might be considered even prettier and more accessible from their hotel.

Unexpectedly, a planned helicopter ride is canceled, leading to a free photoshoot offered by the hotel as a replacement. This experience leads to a valuable travel tip: always inquire with your hotel about booking excursions, as they might offer discounts or complimentary services. The traveler also shares insights on the best time to visit, suggesting October over September to avoid intense heat and mosquitoes.

The journey concludes with a visit to a "Deer Hotel," where guests can interact with deer after purchasing breakfast. However, this experience takes a humorous turn when a male deer becomes aggressive. The video wraps up with Heideexyz reflecting on the definition of beauty, concluding that it's a feeling of peace and awe, often found in the grand scale of nature that makes one feel small yet connected. The trip is deemed successful, with the comfortable and safe travel contributing significantly to the overall positive experience.
