Tianjin Binhai Library Visit: Architectural Marvel and Night
Visit China’s most beautifulLibrary : Amazing curve design

Today I visited the Tianjin Binhai Library in Tianjin, China, famous for its bold, sci fi inspired curves and striking silhouette. The building is often described as a modern architectural wonder and a photographer’s dream, offering dramatic visuals both during the day and at night. Yet the library’s interior presents challenges. It was designed to hold 1.35 million volumes, but actually houses about 300,000, and the lighting can be dim for long reading sessions. The concept was to evoke a mountain of books, but in reality only the lower floor contains physical volumes while the upper levels display printed imagery. If real books were placed throughout, organization and reading flow might be more difficult. In this video I walk you through the entrance corridor, step inside, and show how the space feels with the lights on, then move to the second floor reading area, explore the top floors, and end with a nighttime tour that reveals the library’s evolving charm.
