What was the most surprising thing about the people in China?
How lovely, friendly, helpful, welcoming, and patient everyone was! It was a total shock, especially compared to some of our experiences in Southeast Asia.
How expensive was the food?
Incredibly cheap! We ate amazing meals for as little as 10 yuan in some places. It rivaled Southeast Asia in affordability.
What was your favorite dish?
Probably the spicy noodles with chickpeas in Tong Ting. It was mind-blowing, even though I ate way too much!
What was the transportation like?
The trains and metros were impeccable! So quick, efficient, clean, and affordable. The only downside was sometimes navigating busy stations.
Did you encounter any negative experiences?
We bought a dodgy product from a salesman in Shanghai, but even that interaction ended up being pretty funny and friendly.
