We traveled across China from futuristic Shenzhen to the mountains of the Xizang Autonomous Region, taking the Qinghai–Xizang Railway, the highest railway journey in the world, to Lhasa before continuing to Nyingchi.
In Shenzhen, we experienced driverless taxis, drone food delivery, robot coffee, the DJI flagship store, Huaqiangbei electronics market and some of the most advanced technology we’ve ever seen.
From there, we flew to Xining and boarded the Qinghai–Xizang Railway, crossing the plateau at elevations of around 5,000 metres before arriving in Lhasa. We visited the Potala Palace, explored the city, and then continued to Nyingchi for turquoise lakes, snow-capped mountains and some of the most unexpected landscapes in China.
